UofM grad shares virtual performance for nursing home residents

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A University of Memphis graduate who sings at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities has made a virtual show online since she cannot sing in person.

Jenna Newman, who received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Memphis, said she does not want people to feel lonely or forgotten, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Over the years, Residents have shown me that music truly is medicine, and how a song can create so many smiles,” Newman said “Please share this video with any Facilities you know of, or anyone who may need a little musical medicine right now!”

Some of the songs include Frank Sinatra’s L. O. V. E. and Etta James’ At Last
