• 15-year-old with autism hospitalized after being beaten by 16-year-old, police say

    GOSNELL, Ark. - A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged first degree battery after police in Gosnell, Arkansas said he beat up a 15-year-old autistic student at Gosnell High School last week.


    Police said the victim was beaten so badly, he had to be sent to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

    Police told FOX13 the two students got into a fight near the school bus area at the end of the day.


    Police said the 16-year-old pushed the 15-year-old to the ground and started punching him repeatedly in the face until he was stopped by a teacher at the school.


    The victim’s mother told police doctors at LeBonheur said her son suffered a temporal bone on his brain and an orbital bone fracture.


    The mother told police her some has been bullied by his attacker since middle school.


    Police confirmed with FOX13 that there is video of the fight.


    FOX13 is working to learn what disciplinary actions the victim’s alleged attacker could face from the local school district.
