MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Early Monday morning, police were investigating not only a car accident but the shooting incident that caused it.
Memphis Police told FOX13 three women between the ages of 19 and 20 years old were inside of a 2003 yellow Ford Mustang, driving on Lamar when they would hear several shots.

Police said the driver would lose control of the car, causing it to hit a wall and then flip upside sown.
Before hearing the shots, the victims told FOX13 they were followed by a suspicious dark colored car with tinted windows.
Timothy Gardner works near where the accident happened. He said this type of violence is not uncommon for the area.
"It's actually been a lot of violence on this corner. Too much shooting right here in this area,” Gardner said.
Police could not confirm with me how many times the victim’s car was shot at.
Police said the victims described the suspect’s car as a dark colored Infiniti.
The three women were sent to the hospital where two were non-critical condition and the third in critical condition.
"That's just sad to have three women shot at for whatever reason,” Gardner said.
FOX13 has not received an update on the woman listed in critical condition.
Police told FOX13 at this time there is no specific suspect information.
Gardner said until police sends a message to criminals in the area, crime will continue to get worse.
"We'll probably be the next ones to get robbed or hurt so we have to stay secure,” Gardner said.
