MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man with more than 15 prior felonies was found guilty of choking a security officer unconscious in a shoplifting incident.
Christopher Talley was convicted of attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault, and theft.

He faces up to 30 years in prison. He is set to be sentenced March 2.
The incident happened back in August of 2014 when a security guard at T.J.Maxx on Park Ave. caught Talley trying to steal a half dozen Michael Kors purses.
When he tried to catch him, Talley threw up and shouted, "I have AIDS. I'm going to give you AIDS."
Talley attacked the officer, wrapped a wire cable around his neck, and choked him until he lost consciousness.
Talley escaped, but was caught 11 days later when a tip came into CrimeStoppers.
