LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Lincoln County babysitter wanted for child abuse after a mother claims she was caught on nanny cam abusing a toddler.
Rainey Upton was arrested Tuesday in Madison County, Ala., according to the jail.
The jail confirms she is being held in Madison County Jail on a felony warrant for child abuse in Lincoln County.
She's a being held as a fugitive of justice.
According to the LCSD, the sheriff's department began investigating Upton after investigators learned the alleged abuse of a child under two years old was captured on a nanny camera. Here's the video:
"Law enforcement has also learned the nanny cam video has been put on social media by the mother of the child," the department said in a news release.
"The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department would urge the public to allow the judicial process to work in this case."
After seeing the video from November 12, the LCSD said the district attorney's office issued a warrant for Upton for child abuse.
