• City Watch canceled for 17-year-old girl

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - UPDATE: Sunday at 7:20 a.m.

    Derekia Smith has been found.

    The city watch for her has been canceled.


    Memphis police are searching for a missing 17-year-old girl, and they need your help finding her. 

    Police told us Derekia Smith was last scene on the 5100 block of Yale Road. 

    She is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 130 pounds, with black hair, and  brown eyes. MPD  said they don't know what clothing Smith had on last.

    Smith is possibly with an adult male, 26, known as Melrico Nelvis. She was severely beaten by this individual several days ago, MPD said.
