• Corrections officer charged in MS prison escape

    A female corrections officer is charged with helping two inmates get away after escaping a Mississippi prison.

    Tenika Romero, 35, is charged with conspiring escape.

    A spokesperson with the Sunflower County Sheriff's Office said Romero is accused of picking up James Sanders and Ryan Young after they walked of the Parchman Prison grounds.

    Romero was arrested on Wednesday. Her bond was set at $50,000.

    The Mississippi Department of Corrections said Sanders and Young escaped either late Sunday or early Monday morning. 

    Sanders was captured about 15 miles away in Mound Bayou, Mississippi on Tuesday.

    Ryan was captured on Wednesday in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. 

    Details of their captures are still very limited.

    The Mississippi Department of Corrections did not return our calls for comment.
