You've seen the ads on Facebook. Cute clothing at great prices.
The clothes look great in the ads but what do you really get?
Hundreds of bad reviews about quality, shipping time, and bad customer service had us asking questions.
What we learned? It can be a gamble to order from a website you are not familiar with.
Allison LaRue ordered a sweater from RoseGal. She says it took weeks to arrive and was way too small.
She told us it wouldn’t even fit over her head.
She said the return process was too difficult so she will give it away.
FOX13 talked to three women with similar experiences from different companies.
Caroline Earnest bought a $160 Mother of the Bride dress from JJ’s House.
She said, “it turned out to be a nightmare.”
She said the dress was too small, the color was off and it was poor quality. It took her a week to get in touch with the company and they told her there were no returns and no exchanges.
Caroline said, “I asked what do I do with my purchase and they informed me…maybe you want to give it away as a gift. I’m thinking, $160? Give it away?”
Renita Lewis ordered two sweaters from Zulily. Only one arrived…several weeks late. And, it didn’t fit. Zulily is clear about its policy of no returns. She found out they do not do exchanges, either.
Valerie Calhoun tried to order a dress from Nasty Dress. The sale did not go through.
She ordered a dress and a top from Rosegal. She paid $18 extra for what they call “expedited shipping.” The website notes that is delivery “3-7 business days after processing.”
17 days later, it has still not arrived. A close check of the sizing chart is shocking. A U-S size 8 is a 2 XL. A size 10 is a triple XL.
We contacted the Better Business Bureau. They told us Nasty Dress has a F rating. 74 complaints. Items not delivered. Pictures don’t accurately depict the product and sizing is not accurate.
RoseGal also has a F rating from the BBB for complaints about items that never arrive and difficulty reaching the company.
JJ’s House has a C- for a pattern of complaints. It notes the company is based in Hong Kong.
Zulily has an A+ rating BUT it has 287 complaints for product that does not arrive and it’s no refund policy.
The lesson here? Make sure you are ordering from a company you can trust. If not, take a closer look at the size chart and know that your order may not be delivered in a timely manner.
In fact, based on what we found, it probably won’t arrive anytime soon.
