• High powered rifles used to fire more than 20 shots into elderly couple's home

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - More than 20 shots were fired into a Memphis home overnight. 

    It happened at a house in the 4000 block of Timberwood around 11 p.m. Wednesday. 

    The homeowners, an elderly couple in their 70s, were home in bed when it happened, but were not hurt. 

    A police report obtained by FOX13 shows 22 bullets were fired into the home and cars parked in a carport. 

    Rounds found include 7.62 rounds (AK47 round), 223 rounds (AR-15 round), and a 9mm round. 

    The couple did not want to be identified for their safety, but told FOX13 the house shook from gun fire for about 30 seconds. 

    A neighbor, Isadore Harris, said of the couple, "They’re quiet, they keep to themselves.” 

    There are no suspects in custody at this time.
