After two seasons playing for their hometown school, Memphis natives Dedric and KJ Lawson have announced that they will transfer from the University of Memphis basketball program.
The Lawson brothers arrived at Memphis as high level prospects who wanted to turn a struggling Tiger program around. They thrived during the 2016-17 campaign, as Dedric averaged 19.2 points and 9.9 rebounds as a sophomore while KJ Lawson scored 12.3 points.
The Lawson brothers have been connected to their father, Keelon, who worked with the Tigers program as an assistant for three years. Neither the Lawson family nor the University have commented on his future with the program.
The Lawson's announced their transfer with a release to media. It can be read in full below.
