• Man charged in sex trafficking investigation behing held on $1M bond

    HERNANDO, Miss. --  Update: Davis is now facing charges for human trafficking, reckless driving, failure to register a vehicle and driving with a suspended license. 

    He is being held on a $1 million bond in the DeSoto County jail.

    The suspect in the sex trafficking of a 17-year-old has been identified as 31-year-old Darnell Davis. The other suspect found inside the vehicle was a juvenile. 

    FOX13 News has learned the FBI and Hernando police have rescued a 17-year-old from a sex trafficking operation. 

    We have learned who that teen is, but are not publishing her name or her parents' names to protect her identity.

    The stop happened around 3:00 Sunday in Hernando, Mississippi after Hernando police were tipped off that a pair of men were traveling with a 17-year-old female who had been missing. 

    The stop happened on I-55.

    Darnell is faces charges for traffic and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
