• Man dead after overnight shooting in Frayser, suspect arrested

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - UPDATE AS OF 9/16 8:30 P.M.: 

    MPD have made an arrest in the deadly shooting Saturday night in Frayser. 

    According to police, Verles Morris was charged with Second Degree Murder, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Employing a Firearm During Commission of a Dangerous Felony in connection with the homicide at 1274 Frayser.

    Morris will face a judge Monday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.


    A Memphis man is dead after an overnight shooting in Frayser.

    MPD arrived on the scene in the 1200 block of Frayser at 10:38 Saturday night.

    Officers found a man shot and killed on the floor.

    Investigators told FOX13 the suspect was known to the man. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

    Police say the shooting happened after an argument between the suspect and the victim's mother.
