MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man is in jail after a weekend homicide.
Memphis officers said they responded to a shooting in the 3900 Ross Road Sunday evening.

38-year-old Timmy Pettigrew was found sitting in a silver Dodge Ram pick-up truck with multiple gunshot wounds when officers arrived. He was later pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said the father was shot by 38-year-old Everett Young. Pettigrew and Young were acquaintances and police said both men were in the car when the shooting occurred.
Young was later taken into police custody after a thorough investigation and gave different accounts of what happened.
He later admitted to shooting Pettigrew several times. He also admitted that he took the weapon used from the scene after the shooting.
Young was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
This is an ongoing investigation.
