MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Family members are demanding answers after someone shot and killed a man while he was sitting in his car.
Investigators were called to East Brooks and Millbranch to investigate a suspicious vehicle early Sunday morning.
Officers found a man shot and killed while sitting in the turning lane.
Family members have identified the man killed as Cameo Covington, 26.
His mother told FOX13 she forgives whoever did this, but she wants them to turn themselves in.
"It wasn't right for them to do that to my baby. That was my child and my child is dead and gone," said Linda Covington. "I gave him life and they have no right to take his life."
She woke up to police officers knocking on her door early Sunday morning. They told her he had been shot inside his car.
"God knows who did it, I don't know but God knows who did it. Whoever did it, I hope they get caught," his mother said.
This victim's mother said Cameo's 27th birthday would have been this Thursday.
His brother Antonio Covington said Cameo was, "a great person that everyone loved."
No suspect information is available at this time.
