MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two people are in critical condition after being shot in Whitehaven.

It happened in the 300 block of Bonita around 11:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Gloria Brown told FOX13 her son was home when the shots rang out. He immediately called her.

He told her about the shooting, and then the phone went dead.

"I got nervous," Brown said. "And when the phone went dead, I just did 85 mph all the way home."

Lucky for Brown, her son was not struck.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three men in the grass.

Two victims were taken to Regional One in critical and one treated at the scene.

The victims told police the suspect walked up to them and shot them.

Nicole Bradford lives down the street from Brown. She said she arrived home around 2 a.m. last night to be greeted by as many as 10 police cars in front of her home. When she spoke to FOX13's Josh Tucker, her concern was for her 2-year-old daughter.

"That bullet don't have a name on it. And  it don't have a direction on which way it's going to fall," Bradford said.

According to MPD's CyberWatch program, there have been 4 aggravated assaults within a mile of scene.
