A 15-year-old who is accused of brutally beating a 6-year-old girl has been indicted on multiple felony charges, including murder.
Antonio Evans, who was 14 at the time, is accused of fatally wounding Destine King. The young girl was rushed to the hospital on December 23, 2015, when a woman came home to her Cordova apartment to find her foster daughter unresponsive on the living room floor.

Investigators said King had internal injuries, including a lacerated liver, bruising to the pelvis, a shoe print on private area and bleeding from the brain. She died four days later.
The 6-year-old’s brother and sister also suffered injuries at the hands of Evans, according to investigators. The boy said he was punched, kicked, slapped and hit with a belt. The girl told police he saw Evans bit, punch and kick Destine. He allegedly told the 6-year-old not to tell anyone or he would kill her.
The alleged beatings happened over a three-day period, according to police.
Evans was indicted on charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse, attempted first-degree murder, rape of a child and aggravated child abuse.
