FOX13 talked to the child's mother Monday, who is devastated.

He had a smile that could light up a room.

Thirteen-year-old Javarrie Robertson, better known as JoJo, had big dreams of becoming a surgeon. JoJo's mother, Fabre Ford said, "He was my heart and my everything. Everything I did, I did it for JoJo."

But now, Ford will never see her only child reach his goals. "I never thought I'd be burying my child. That's why feel so guilty, that I'm here and he's not," said Ford.

Ford dropped JoJo off at his dad, Joe Robertson's, mobile home in Toone, Friday morning, so he could take Jojo to school. She never thought that would be the last time she would see her son...shortly after, someone shot and killed both of them.

"That's what I don't understand, how you could do that to an innocent child and he didn't know what was going on, he didn't know anything," Ford told us.

We did some digging and found out 38-year-old Robertson has an extensive criminal past including several drug offenses, and while we don't know the motive, townspeople do know the killer is still out there and it's terrifying.

Gail Pratt said, "It could be anybody, your next-door neighbor, we don't know who it is."

The TBI said Monday, this is an active investigation and no arrests have been made.
