MEMPHIS, TN - UPDATE Friday 10:00PM:

18-year-old Mya Lakes has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and child abuse/neglect after 7-month-old A'Laleh Fentress was taken from her daycare.

Lakes is pregnant and allegedly said she wanted to keep A'Laleh as her own.

She had no criminal history in Shelby County prior to these charges.

The daycare only opened one year ago.

FOX13 has learned the Department of Children's Services is investigating.

A'Laleh's mother, Jasmine Fentress, told FOX13 she is currently looking for the Good Samaritan who found her daughter.

“There was an error in the daycare's part,” she said. “They left a folder with my name. It was still open on that page, so anyone could have walked in and said ‘oh hey my name is Jasmine.’”

She said that is how 18-year-old Mya Lakes got her name, and wrote it down to take the child. Police said Lakes wanted to keep her for her own. Fentress told us this is not the first time she has tried to do this with a child.

“You wouldn’t think that it would happen to you or wouldn’t be a reality,” Fentress said. “Something you would only see on T.V. but yesterday that was real.”

She also said she wants to find the person that found A’Laleh and contacted police. She wants to thank them personally. If you know who the Good Samaritan is, please contact FOX13.
