"I just came to the store and heard that the guy got shot," Christopher Dwayne Hall said.
Several folks living at the South Memphis complex were concerned about discussing what happened. However, they directed FOX13 to an area where they say the 24-year old victim was shot to death.
"They just need to put the guns down and put the fists up, if you're going to fight--and do right," Hall said.
To put into perspective where the shooting happened, within a few feet you will find a children's nursery, a church, balconies where families can sit and relax, and a park.
We looked at the crime numbers surrounding the area, where the victim was gunned down. Memphis Police have been called to the community nearly 400 times in the past 90 days. The majority of the offenses were for assaults and vandalism. Now detectives are looking into one of the city's latest homicides.
Police told FOX13 the person who pulled the trigger, was possibly driving a blue Infiniti. Detectives are hopeful someone saw something, and will step forward. And those living in the area told FOX 13, they are trusting Skywatch cameras will be a voice for the victim.
"I just pray about it, I pray for everybody," Hall said.
