MEMPHIS, Tenn. - MPD has made the largest child porn bust in the departments history.

Gary Coy Roberts has been charged with 300 counts sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated, sexual exploitation of a minor, and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Reports show Roberts lived one block away from Sherwood Elementary.

We checked the distance, it's only about a fifth of a mile from Roberts house to the elementary school. That's less than a five minute walk.

Police told FOX13 after an investigation and serving a search warrant on his house, they found 3700 images, 350 videos all total 30,000 images. That exceeds 100 images which is required for the offense of a B class felony.

Officers' found copies of CD's and DVD's with videos of child porn packaged in carrying cases.

Investigators told FOX13 some videos were 59 seconds long, while others were 39 minutes.

MPD said the images were of unknown minor children nude, posing in erotic sexual positions. Some images show the children being involved in sexual bondage.

John Page lives just down the street from Roberts. He told FOX13 that he saw him just about every day.

"I'm glad they caught him. Anything against a child is unacceptable."

Roberts waived his Miranda Rights and gave a typed and signed statement admitting to being the owner of the computer.

Investigators said Roberts is due in court on Thursday. His bond has been recommended at $2.5 Million.

The bust was made by The Memphis Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
