Police officer shot in Nashville, gunman dead

UPDATE 8:38 a.m.:

The Nashville Police Department tweeted the "gunman who shot officer is dead in motel room with apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to head."

We have learned that the officer shot, Officer Terrance McBride, in Nashvile worked in their east precinct is in stable condition.  Officer McBride is a 3 year veteran.



A police officer has been shot in Nashville, according to WZTV.

The reported shooting happened less than 20 minutes ago.

The officer was rushed to a local hospital.

At this time it is unknown what lead to the shooting.
