MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Four brand new Ford trucks were stolen from a private rail yard, they were valued at $250,000.

Memphis Police said they were stolen from the 2400 block of Florida St. last Thursday.

Early Tuesday morning, police said a suspect used a stolen Ford F150 Platinum, valued at $70,000, to ram the gate on CN railroad. The suspect was able to gain entry to the company’s private storage lot.

Police said about 20 people then entered the private lot and began getting into new vehicles staged for delivery.

The suspects then fled on foot as MPD arrived on the scene. Police were able to catch Deshun Selph and Nakira Bonds running from the scene and detained them after a brief foot chase.

MPD said Selph made a ‘spontaneous utterance’ when officers tried to arrest him. Police said a car crash was involved and medical attention was needed.

Bonds also told officers that she had been involved in a car accident and needed medical attention.

Officers said Bonds was transported to Regional One Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Bonds was transported to Crump GIB office where she was advised her Miranda Rights.

She then waived her rights and provided a statement of admission to the attempted theft of several new vehicles from the CN rail yard.

The vehicle used to ram the gate was verified to have been stolen from the same CN lot.

At the time of the attempted theft, there were approximately 91 new vehicles on the CN lot with values ranging from $45,000 to $70,000.
