MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A pregnant woman was assaulted and robbed by the father of her child, police said.
Police were called the the 2200 block of Howell Tuesday. The victim told police she wanted to report an assault that happened Saturday.
The victim is six to seven weeks pregnant with the suspect's child.
She told police that Toriano Floyd is married and angry that she is now pregnant with his child.
She told police he confronted her at her apartment and attacked her, because she was happy about the pregnancy.

She said she was pushed down, choked, had her hair pulled, and Floyd scuffled with her over her cell phone, resulting in her getting a busted lip.
The victim said she had a friend take her to the hospital to make sure her unborn child was not hurt.
After she was released from the hospital, she told officers Floyd showed up at her apartment and started assaulting her again and took her cell phone.
On the day she contacted police to let them know about the assault, she said she learned Floyd used her stolen cell phone to contact several people in her phone and told them she had a list of conditions, including AIDS.
She said that is when she decided to call police.
She told police she had the stolen phone turned off now, but claims Floyd took screenshots of pictures and messages in her phone and placed them on a fake Facebook account that he created.
The victim filed a protective order against the suspect.
He is not in custody.
