• School district in Arkansas canceling classes for second straight day due to flooding


    TRUMANN, Ark. - A school district in Arkansas will be closed for the second straight day because of flooding in the area.

    The Trumann School District announced on Facebook that each of its schools would be closed Wednesday “in an effort to ensure student safety.”

    The district dismissed early on Monday and was closed Tuesday due to flooding in the district.

    According to the Facebook post, bus transportation has been significantly impacted by flooding in Trumann and Highway 69 over the past two days. 

    “Due to the city drainage system being full from localized flooding, the school’s sewer system is not able to function properly at the TMS campus (toilets will not flush and drain),” the post said.

    It will be an AMI day, according to officials.
