• Suspects captured following downtown shooting


    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - MPD responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Wagner Street on Sunday.

    The shooting was recorded live on Facebook. Investigators reviewed the video and developed suspects Desmond Bowen and Corey Woods as the suspects.

    Arrests warrants for reckless endangerment were immediately issued for Bowen and Woods on Tuesday April 18, 2017.

    Officials received information that Bowen and Woods were hiding out in Hernando, MS.

    The men were eventually located in the 800 block Plymouth Drive and were taken into custody by DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department. Bowen and Woods have since been extradited back to Memphis.  

    MPD assert that there were other vehicles that were involved in the shooting. A white Hummer and white Nissan Maxima. There was also a black Hyundai Sonata riding in front of Bowen and Woods that was also shooting at the white Hummer and Nissan Maxima according to police.
