Tennessee man and his daughter busted during cross county prostitution sting

A Covington, Tennessee man is out of jail after being arrested with his 22-year-old daughter in Southaven during a Cross Country prostitution sting.

Southaven police told FOX13 Andrew Lee Obrien was arrested and charged with one count of promoting prostitution.

Steve Anderson lives next door to Obrien and told FOX13 he thinks the charges he is facing are outrageous.

"Something is wrong. He just went to visit her," Anderson said.

Anderson said he believes he was only in Mississippi to help his troubled daughter.

Southaven PD said Obrien and his daughter Chelsea Obrien were arrested with 11 other people in Operation Cross Country X.

It was a crackdown initiative from the FBI to recover underage victims of sex trafficking and prostitution.

“As far as him being a pimp for his daughter, I'll never believe it," Anderson said.

Southaven Police Lieutenant Mark Little told FOX13 their investigation does not show Obrien forcing his daughter to prostitute, but said he was aware.

"We had people in all locations, out in the parking lot, watching and seeing. He drove her up there like everyone else that was arrested," Little said.

Southaven police said Obrien has a court date that has not been set as of yet.
