• Two infants found dead inside suitcase in ditch: New details into the investigation

    CROSS COUNTY, Ark. - UPDATE Feb. 20: Cross County Sheriff's Office is still investigating after deputies discovered the bodies of two infant babies Friday, February 16. The unidentified bodies were inside a purple suitcase found in a ditch near Crossroad 602. 

    According to a preliminary autopsy report, the babies were approximately 32 to 34 weeks along, and one of the babies was a girl. Officials are still trying to determine the babies' race and manner of death.

    Cross County Sheriff's Office is investigating after deputies discovered the bodies of infant twins. 

    The twins were found Friday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. on Crossroad 602. The unidentified bodies were inside a purple suitcase found in a ditch.

    “It was horrible for someone to do something like that. I don’t know what type of parent would do something,” said Malerie Henderson, who found out about the tragedy on Facebook. “Nothing like that ever happens around here, and I don’t know who would ever want to do something like that.” 

    The investigation is ongoing, and no suspect information has been released.
