MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two teenagers have been arrested and charged with a 17-year-old's murder.
18-year-old Marshawn Brakefield and a 16-year-old are both charged with First Degree Murder in Perpetration of Aggravated Robbery and First Degree Murder.
MPD was called to Methodist University around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The victim was shot at Semmes and Hoskins.
A brown Chevy Malibu pulled into the ambulance bay with the teen, who was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the hospital.
"It hurts. Hurts to see that we gotta kill each other like that. It shouldn't have to be that way," said Velente Brookins, a neighbor.
Brookins was one of several neighbors who told FOX13 they didn't hear a single gunshot. Instead, they saw police lights.
"I came home," Steven Bryant. "I pulled in the driveway and it was a few police cars.”
Sunday's shooting marks the 113th homicide reported this year.
