• United Soccer League expanding to Memphis


    MEMPHIS, Tenn. -  A new professional sports team is coming to Memphis.

    The United Soccer League confirmed to FOX13 Tuesday afternoon they have given the go ahead for a new team to be established in the Bluff City.

    The team will take the field in 2019. They are expected to play at AutoZone Park.

    “It’s just another example of our momentum in the City of Memphis,” Mayor Jim Strickland said in a Facebook post.

    A full announcement is expected in January, according to USL President Jake Edwards.
