The victim of Tuesday night’s shooting on South Main Street in Downtown Memphis has been identified by friends and family.
Mike Nelson was shot in the back after he left work Tuesday night at about 10, according to a GoFundMe page set up by a coworker.
Nelson was the cook at the Green Beatle, a bar and restaurant on South Main Street.
The GoFundMe page says Nelson is in critical condition.
The publisher of the page, a friend of the victim named Jay, wrote, “If you know Mikey, he has the best attitude and a constant willingness to help others. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
The GoFundMe page has raised $3,000 in about 12 hours.
Memphis Police have not arrested the gunmen, but they’re described as male teens wearing hooded sweatshirts.
If you have any information about the shooting, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
