MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Wahlburgers is one step closer to opening its Memphis location on Beale Street.
The national burger chain submitted its $685,000 renovation plans for its location at the corner of Beale Street and Fourth to the City of Memphis this week.
The contractor for the restaurant told FOX13 during a phone call that he hopes to have the restaurant ready to open in the Spring.

- Caregiver indicted after beating 91-year-old man to death, police say
Restaurant owners originally hoped to open the restaurant sooner, but hit road blocks.
For example, the developers want to remove the store’s awning. They had to get approval from a historical commission first, and eventually were given the green light to remove the overhang, the developer said.
Renovations will begin immediately after the city’s code enforcement officials approve Whalburgers’ plans for the space.
The national burger chain is owned by actor and former rapper Mark Wahlberg and his brothers.
Renderings or for the restaurant plans were not available Wednesday.
