• Weapon stolen from Tennessee Highway Patrol officer's vehicle

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - FOX13 News has learned that a Tennessee High Patrol officer had a weapon stolen out of his truck while it was parked at the Faifield Inn and Suites in Bartlett.


    The break-in happened off of Highway 64. The unnamed officer spoke to FOX13 briefly and admitted the weapon was stolen when it was left in his truck overnight.


    While our crew was on scene we witnessed MPD investigators examining a large padded gun case that would hold a rifle or a shotgun.


    The officer admitted he left the gun in the truck covered with clothing overnight.


    THP can confirm that a long weapon and computer bag was stolen from an unmarked vehicle.
