Memphis police were called to an Old Navy Saturday afternoon after store security witnessed a woman shoplifting.
An Old Navy worker stopped Mercedes Williams, 31, after she was seen putting clothing items into her purse and walking past the checkout register without paying, police say. Officers that arrived on scene interviewed Williams and discovered she had other stolen clothes in her car, court records said.

According to Memphis Police, there were about a hundred stolen items from multiple stores including Abercrombie and Fitch, Bath and Body Works, Victoria Secret, H&M and Nike.
MPD also found a device used to remove security tags from clothes in the car. Williams was taken into custody and charged with Theft of Property.
