By: Lindsey Monroe , Brittani Dubose , Joey Sulipeck , Patrick Pete

Showers are lingering but weakening as we head into the overnight hours.

Scattered showers will be active into the weekend building to heavier rain on Sunday as a cold front finally pushes through.  Temps will remain warm into Sunday then cooler temps arrive with the rain.

Mostly cloudy, a few lingering showers – Low 70

Mostly cloudy, scattered showers – High 86

High pressure begins to shift eastward allowing for more instability and moisture by Thursday. At that point, stray showers and storms will be possible, especially during the afternoon when we have the warmest part of our day.

Rain chances are near 20% Thursday with a better chance, 40%, for Friday.

Stray showers will be possible on Saturday to begin the weekend, but the best chance of rain comes in late Saturday into Sunday with a 60% chance of showers and storms. There could be a few strong storms, especially north of I-40, but widespread severe weather is not expected.
